What do you feel when you have had a bad week with regard to weight loss or maintenance post bariatric surgery ?
I am talking about the kind of week where the scale stays stuck or goes up by a pound ?
Probably you are like most of us and you start blaming yourself.
You believe it’s due to missing your workout last Thursday.
Or it is because you may have cheated by having that glass of wine with your best friend.
Or it is because you just were not following the rules close enough.
When it goes like this you begin to believe that you just aren’t cut out for this and you begin to question your commitment.
If you were more committed you would be seeing better results right ?
But that just isn’t true. My definition of commitment is sticking it out for the long run – it doesn’t matter about the results you see at this very moment. It’s about doing something each and every day to work towards your health goals.
That means that if the scale didn’t move this week it is not because of your commitment. That commitment doesn’t depend on only results. It is a big decision to do what needs to be done to see you healthy and happy – REGARDLESS of what the scale says today.
Some days are going to be harder than others. That happens.
I want you to know that I know how hard you are working to reach your goals and I know how truly committed you are to this process.
Keep on keeping on and moving forward through this journey. You are going to achieve your goals.
